Tender Tension

12 April – 3 May 2026

This exhibition brings together Syrian artists Salam Ahmad and Eyad Albelal, whose practices, though rooted in different mediums, converge in a shared exploration of the human condition. Salam Ahmad, trained in Fine Arts in Syria, works through painting as an intimate, emotional language. Her compositions emerge from quiet inner spaces, where feelings take form before they are spoken. Eyad Albelal, a sculptor educated at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus, approaches the human figure through material. In this exhibition, his works are primarily realized in polyester, shaped through a process of reduction that strips form to its essence. Together, their works unfold as an extension of one another, painting as what is sensed, sculpture as what is felt. Between surface and volume, image and presence, a quiet dialogue emerges. Rather than offering conclusions, the exhibition opens a space, inviting the viewer to move between these two languages, and to encounter, within them, a shifting reflection of the self.
