Soaring

Pale fields of ivory, grey and lavender hold a constellation of forms that seem to rise through the surface. Small flashes of red, blue, ochre and black punctuate the composition like fragments caught in motion, figures, structures, memories, perhaps even cities seen from above. Nothing feels anchored. Everything appears to be lifting, drifting, becoming lighter. In Soaring, Nizar Sabour turns abstraction into a quiet sense of elevation, as though the painting exists somewhere between the earth and what lies beyond it.
