Figures appear, dissolve, and return as traces. Some are drawn into being; others are consumed by fire, their bodies replaced by absence. The void is not empty here—it carries memory, vulnerability, and the unsettling sense of someone who was once present. Moualla works the paper as both image and body: ink and mixed media meet burning, cutting, scorching and abrasion, leaving the surface wrinkled, wounded and physically transformed. The burned passages allow light and the surrounding space to enter the composition, so presence and absence occupy the same plane.
