About this work
In this 2026 work, Ahmad Moualla returns to the human gathering as a space of tension, rhythm and collective memory. Figures press against one another, drawn in urgent black lines across a vivid field of pink, their individual gestures dissolving into a larger, almost theatrical procession.
Yet the composition is shaped equally by absence. The paper is burned and opened, allowing light, wall and shadow to enter the work itself. Suspended within its frame, the sheet appears to float; its irregular edges and voids cast shifting shadows that extend the drawing beyond its physical surface.
At once fragile and assertive, the work moves between drawing, object and spatial intervention—a gathering held together as much by its ruptures as by its figures.
