Floating Flames 6

In this new 2026 body of work, Ahmad Moualla pushes the figure beyond the drawn surface, allowing the paper itself to become part of the composition. Burned and cut away, it opens the gathering to the space behind it, where absence carries as much weight as line. Figures assemble, overlap and lean into one another, held together by Moualla’s restless black gestures and the vivid intensity of pink. Suspended within the frame, the work acquires an almost sculptural presence: light passes through its ruptures, casting shifting shadows and extending the drawing beyond the paper. A gathering defined as much by what remains as by what has been removed.
