Carved from olive wood, this work allows the natural grain, knots and irregularities of the wood to shape the female form. The figure seems to emerge from the material rather than impose itself upon it part body, part raw wood. A sculptural study of femininity, fertility and renewal, grounded in the warmth and permanence of olive wood.
