About this artwork
In these two luminous pieces, Shartouh paints movement the way nature feels it gently, instinctively, as if carried by breath. “The Dandelion” drifts in soft pinks and violets, its form dissolving like a wish released into the air. Layers of translucent strokes give the figure a dreamlike presence, suspended between fragility and quiet courage.
Together, the two works form a poetic duet about transformation: one carried by wind, the other awakened by touch. Alone, each painting brings a sense of softness and emotional freedom to modern and serene interiors.
For collectors: A pair that speaks in whispers — airy, intimate, and beautifully alive.
About the Artist
Nawar Shartouh is a Syrian painter and printmaker based in Dubai. He graduated from the University of Damascus, where his foundation in printmaking shaped his precise, layered, and intentional approach to image-making.
Since establishing his studio in Dubai in 2021, his work has evolved within a contemporary curatorial context while retaining a quiet dialogue with Damascus, often guided by motifs such as jasmine and collective interior states expressed with tonal restraint.
He has presented his work in Cyprus and across the Middle East, including solo and group exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Syria.
