Rooted

Two faces emerge from a web of lines and threads half map, half memory. Red stitches slice across the surface like scars and roots, binding fragments together into a fragile yet unbreakable whole. Rooted feels both tender and fierce, a story of belonging sewn directly into the paper. Rinaal Rekab explores the tension between vulnerability and endurance. The act of stitching over painted surfaces becomes symbolic repair, healing fractures, preserving memory, and weaving identity into permanence. Compact yet powerful, this piece resonates in contemporary interiors with textured details, think natural wood, woven fabrics, or minimalist walls where its tactile presence can be felt up close. A rare small-format work with monumental emotional weight.
