About this artwork
In Love in Damascus, the table stretches beyond food, it becomes a canvas of memory and affection. Citrus, bread, and vibrant dishes evoke the warmth of Syrian hospitality, while tender gestures between figures anchor the scene in intimacy. It is a portrait of a city’s soul, where love is served as generously as the meal.
Jonas Al Sayed paints Damascus not only as a place, but as a feeling one carried through flavors, rituals, and shared moments. The work captures the intertwining of heritage and tenderness, revealing how food embodies both memory and devotion.
Owning Love in Damascus is an embrace of culture and sentiment, a work that speaks of home, of belonging, and of the enduring beauty found in shared tables and shared hearts.
