Randa Hijazi

A Syrian-Canadian visual artist whose symbolic abstract language explores memory, identity, migration, and human connection. Drawing on heritage, symbolic figures, geometry, and the Syrian landscape, she transforms cultural references into contemporary paintings that give memory a living visual presence. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Canada, the Middle East, and Europe, including in Syria, the UAE, Lebanon, France, and Egypt. She is the recipient of multiple international distinctions, including Artist of the Year 2024 from Singulart, Paris, the International Medal of Merit from the International Lions Clubs, and the Golden Medal in Art at the 2023 Spring Exhibition in Montreal. Through Murmur, an invented symbolic figure representing the human experience across time, Hijazi gives form to journeys, roots, and the enduring connection between people and place. Her paintings invite viewers into spaces of reflection, where memory, identity, and belonging continue to shape the human experience.
