About this artwork
This work explores the figure through a delicate balance of presence and exposure. The body is both revealed and softened by a translucent veil, dissolving the boundary between form and atmosphere.
The seated posture conveys calm control, while the direct gaze introduces a subtle tension between vulnerability and self-possession.
A warm, luminous palette—dominated by soft whites and radiant ochres—envelops the figure, allowing light to become an active element within the composition.
Rather than concealing, transparency becomes a language—through which the figure exists as both image and sensation, held between clarity and quiet dissolution.
About the Artist
Salam Ahmad, trained in Fine Arts in Syria, works through painting as an intimate, emotional language. Her compositions emerge from quiet inner spaces, where feelings take form before they are spoken. The body dissolves into sensation, and color, especially grey, becomes a field of reflection, suspended between presence and absence, fullness and emptiness.
