About this artwork
In this pair from the Carved Edition, Shartouh pushes printmaking into a more sculptural realm — chiseling bold, rhythmic lines that give the figures weight, presence, and an almost architectural tension. The heavy carving in the mold creates shadows that feel alive, while the monochrome palette preserves the raw honesty of the scene.
These works fit beautifully in contemporary, industrial, and art-forward interiors — spaces that appreciate texture, craftsmanship, and storytelling carved by hand. Displayed together or individually, they anchor a room with quiet power.
For collectors: A rare glimpse into Shartouh’s deeper craftsmanship — carved, expressive, and collectible.
About the Artist
Nawar Shartouh is a Syrian painter and printmaker based in Dubai. He graduated from the University of Damascus, where his foundation in printmaking shaped his precise, layered, and intentional approach to image-making.
Since establishing his studio in Dubai in 2021, his work has evolved within a contemporary curatorial context while retaining a quiet dialogue with Damascus, often guided by motifs such as jasmine and collective interior states expressed with tonal restraint.
He has presented his work in Cyprus and across the Middle East, including solo and group exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Syria.
