About this artwork

Nine Shades of Jasmine — A Limited Series by Nawar Shartouh
In this rare set of nine paintings, Nawar composes a quiet symphony of shifting light — moving from pure white to deep black in a gentle, seamless gradient. Each piece becomes a step in a visual journey, where tone is not merely background, but a metaphor for the way memory, emotion, and identity travel between clarity and shadow.
Within these evolving shades, Nawar places his figures — tender, sculptural silhouettes carrying delicate rose-pink jasmine. The blossoms shimmer softly against the monochrome fields, appearing almost illuminated, as if the flowers themselves are the keepers of warmth, hope, or a story not yet spoken aloud.
Though each painting stands complete on its own, the nine together form a single breath… a narrative that unfolds from light to dark yet never loses its softness. It is a meditation on human connection, on what we carry, and on the fragile beauty that persists through every shade of our days.
A collector’s treasure — harmonious, poetic, and crafted with Nawar’s unmistakable precision and soul.
